 MY STORY

My name is Rashel Cedeño de Abreu, and I was born and raised in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. For as long as I can remember, my parents have always been into traveling, but they both were especially passionate about their own country.

Growing up they taught me to appreciate the beauty in every place I go to. We used to make a road trip somewhere in Venezuela at least once a month. Most of them being spontaneous and on a budget.

Being the granddaughter of Portuguese immigrants also gave me many lessons. One of them is that loving the land I was born into does not keep me from enjoying others. I am in love just as much with the little island my ancestors come from, Madeira, and my new home, the great state of Texas.

From a very young age I have always been inspired by my parents' love for new adventures and it made me the optimist and brave person I see myself as today.

This blog is a tribute to the best memories I have from my last years in Venezuela. This is how I will always remember it.

About the blog

All the pictures I am using were taken by both my mom and I.

The stories are a recollection of my favorite places in my country. The ones I believe the world deserves to see and enjoy.

Currently, traveling to Venezuela is very difficult as there are many obstacles and dangers that come from the ongoing crisis. So showing pictures and talking about its stunning landscapes helps me keep hope and spread it.

It is a paradise worth saving.
